Our Guiding Principles

Four Principles Define How We Serve Every Family

These values drive every decision we make and every modification we build. They're not negotiable, and they're why families trust us with their most important accessibility projects.

Excellence

Superior materials, expert installation, and meticulous attention to detail define every project. Your home modifications deserve nothing less.

Intergrity

Dependable communication, consistent follow-through, and showing up when we say we will. Our project managers check in daily because your peace of mind matters.

Honesty

We tell you what you need, not what makes us the most money. Clear communication about timelines, costs, and expectations means you're never left guessing about your project.

Innovation

We stay ahead of accessibility standards and techniques through continuous training and certification. Our Design-For-Life approach plans for your future needs, not just today's challenges.

We Found Our Calling In Serving Families Who Needed Us Most

In 2017, Jon Hansel and his father Jim founded Remodel for Life, bringing together Jim's 40 years of master craftsmanship and a shared vision to serve families facing accessibility challenges.

Jim had seen firsthand how accessibility modifications transformed lives and encouraged Jon toward this specialized work. Shortly after starting the company, a mother called asking about county waiver programs for her child with disabilities. That phone call changed everything—Jon and Jim realized there was an entire community of families who desperately needed contractors with both the expertise and the proper certifications. They became licensed Medicaid providers, earned their UDCP, CAPS, and MN-AS certifications, and committed exclusively to accessibility remodeling from that point forward.

Since 2017, Remodel for Life has completed over 500 projects throughout the Twin Cities metro, restoring freedom and safety for families. Every modification matters because they're transforming lives, not just homes.
